In 1960 Charles Beshaler bought an old building from Bert and Blanche Troyer after they closed their Pleasant Hill Store ten miles northeast of Arnold, it was moved to the east edge of town and opened as "Arnold Country Club" in 1960. Ken and Fern Russell were the first managers, in 1966 Al and Arvilla Atkins took over, there was a nine hole golf course on land joining the club.
In 1972 and new course was laid out southeast of the cemetery on approximately 75 acres designated for golf course use by Darrell and Patricia Crow. The Crow family has leased the land to the Arnold Golf Club to present day.
From 1972 to 1996 the course had sand greens and no irrigation. In 1997 the grass green course was developed. The underground irrigation system, fairway development and green building was done entirely with volunteer labor and paid for from donations. It was reopened in 1998, debt free.
In the last several years there have been improvement each year to create better and more challenging play.
